Surface guide
Choose the method by surface, not by habit.
Sofa cushions and upholstered chairs
Broad, reasonably firm fabric panels are a natural place to start. Work in sections, use light pressure, and test a hidden area first.
Fabric car seats
Flat seating panels can be workable. For seat seams, footwells, and textured carpet, consider a vacuum attachment or detailing brush instead.
Velvet and delicate upholstery
Check the care label and consult the furniture maker’s guidance. Pile direction and delicate construction can change what is appropriate; do not assume a roller is suitable.
Pet beds and bedding
Remove loose surface hair where the fabric can lie flat. Follow laundering instructions for the item; a reusable roller does not replace washing.
Clothing
A small sticky lint roller can be easier for a quick touch-up. Use the method that best matches the garment’s fabric and care label.
